The Weston brand is all about using digital alchemy to achieve natural exclusivity.
We transform natural resources - mineral, vegetable, animal - into creative and commercial "gold" - that is to say highly valuable images that turn the everyday objects into gloriously beautiful objects for us to all enjoy.
It does not take a genius to work out why our brand name is Weston, but it does take a genius to develop a whole world of natural creativity.
We position ourselves as an "affordable luxury" brand. What does that mean? It means high quality products made in Britain if at all possible. It means sensible and fair prices. It means beautiful things, but it also means things that have a purpose, and are useful in some ways.
We are proud that our fashion accessories, primarily scarves, are stocked by many of the finest luxury retailers - Liberty, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, and Fortnum & Mason in London, for example - as well as stores ranging from Le Bon Marche in Paris to Takashimaya in Tokyo, and major online retailers, not least NET-A-PORTER.
Yet we believe that our brand can be a leader in the market of digital applications for interior design products, and large scale architectural applications.
CREATING NATURAL EXCLUSIVITY
Weston Earth Images started rolling forward in 2011, and we feel we have come a long way in a short time, but most rewarding is the passionate support we have received along the way:
# from retailers like Ed Burstell at Liberty in the early days through NET-A-PORTER to, most recently, Harrods
# from journalists around the world writing for publications like Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire and the Financial Times
# from our wonderful suppliers, not least Renzo and Barbara at Maver in Italy, Mike at Vivapix in Manchester, Darren and Dan at Abbey Bookbinding in Cardiff and Belinda at Fluorescent Images in London
# from our image and fabric developers Ceri Redmond (now playing soccer in California!), Amanda and Manisha.
Above all, our brilliant and dedicated core team:
Helen Price, who is at the heart of so much of what we do from liaising with retailers and suppliers to packing boxes and checking off endless lists to make sure mistakes are not made
Tina Grace, who works with Richard produces images that work, and has all the right design instincts and expertise necessary to make the very best of them
Deborah Graham, who holds all the admin and logistics seamlessly together
Nimi Ahilan, who not only counts the money, she makes us money - and feel better about life.
Finally, Martin Price, who is the major shareholder along with Richard, and runs the business side. He and Richard had a fun business together before WEI, but this time they have both got serious! Martin has been marketing and business development consultant to BlackBerry, Channel Four, Ford, Microsoft and Virgin among others. He was also the founder shareholder in several businesses, including an exhibitions company sold to the Daily Mail and General Trust, an active leisure business turning over £13m, and a tour operating business sold for almost £40m
